This
is the Third and probably the most dramatic piece in
the Alexander Series.
The legend says that when Alexander was asked by his
Mother Olympias about his friendship with Hephaestion
and by inference his sexuality Alexander answered her
"Hephaestion is also Alexander", thus making
it clear
but in an ambiguous manner that Hephaestion was his
Lover.
Roy
Tamer has imagined this moment and captured it in this
wonderful Painting.
The Imagery is Symbolic, the Style, Classical Artist
Painter something for which Tamer is noted among the
Cognoscenti of Gay Art.
Olympias
is not visible but her presence is obvious by the expressions
on the faces of the Two main characters
Behind the Two figurers is a Minoan Wall Painting of
a Bull Bait a Female figure appears to be imploring
Alexander
but to the left we see a charging Bull with all its
Masculine connotations and a contestant in the
Bait is preparing to leap over its murderous Horns.
Like
most of Tamers work there is a Story here, Tamer cleverly
allows the
Viewer to fill in the gaps with his own imagination
and experience.
Roy
Tamers work is in significant Collections both in the
USA and Europe
This piece represents an excellent investment opportunity
for the Serious Collector.
